Dr Rashinta Moodley is a general paediatrician and paediatric nephrologist (kidney specialist) in full time private practice. She completed her primary medical degree at Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2002 before completing her internship at Livingstone Hospital in Port Elizabeth and community service at King Edward Hospital in Durban.

Thereafter, Dr Moodley spent 18 months in the United Kingdom as a resident medical officer at many BUPA and Nuffield Hospitals.

She then fulfilled her passion in child health by completing her Fellowship in Paediatrics from the college of paediatricians in 2009.

Dr Moodley worked as a paediatric consultant at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for three years.

She was a recipient of a scholarship for subspecialty training and she completed the Certificate in Paediatric Nephrology in 2015 - training at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban.

Dr Moodley has been in private practice since 2015 and is currently consulting at Life Entabeni Hospital, Life Mt Edgecombe Hospital and The Gateway Private Hospital.

Her approach to paediatric care is that of prevention, early detection of disease and initiation of suitable treatment - involving the least invasive investigations and the use of appropriate medication in the care of ailing children.

Dr Moodley understands that a sick child is part of a family and community and she takes time and effort to involve the parents in appropriate counselling and management. Being a mother to two beautiful children, Dr Moodley has added experience in understanding her patients and their parents.
